    Understanding Expiration Dates

    I don't know about you, but the dates on food labels always confuse me. What does "sell by" really mean? And how about the "use by" date?

    I came across this great blog entry today at Culinate with some helpful information about interpreting expiration dates on the perishable products that we buy. Jonathan Bloom identifies 8 things you should know about the dates on food labels. I thought it was a great read and wanted to share it with all of you!

    3 for $30 has Returned

    Happy New Year everyone!! I always love announcing promotions like these - New Urban Eats is back. This is the 3 for $30 deal (3 courses for $30) offered through the Seattle Times at various restaurants throughout Seattle and the Eastside. It runs Sunday-Thursday until January 29. Participating restaurants have only been open less than 3 years.

    A few restaurants I've been wanting to try are on the list including Kirkland's Trellis, West Seattle's Spring Hill, Bellevue's new Pearl and Maple Leaf's Divine.
